Our consulting division has helped the various organisation in the area of skill development to understand market requirement through Training Need Identifications(TNI)  and Labour Market Survey(LMS). We have helped the organization to develop content and pedagogies. We have also assisted organisations in process audit, affiliation and empanelment.


We have trained and mentored more than 900 micro-entrepreneurs. In a 5-day intensive workshop, entrepreneurs understand the nuances of sustainable self-employment/ entrepreneurship. We have also worked in developing marketing collaterals for SHGs, networking for marketing, providing services in Accounting & company formation, branding, etc.

Goal: To provide Skill training to increase their employability to 300,000 youth by the year 2022.

Rumi comes with the strong background and experience of having worked for both the corporates as well as the development sector since 1993.
She holds a Post-graduate degree in Sericulture from Bangalore University and Entrepreneurship Development program from IIM Bangalore and currently pursuing her Ph.D.
Rumi has worked with organizations like Dr Reddy’s foundation (DRF), Sense International (UK), Centre for Environment Education (Ahmedabad), and The Action Research Unit (TARU).
In 2005 she went on to set up Ants Consulting & Services Pvt. Ltd, with a strong vision to take up skill development and employment generation for the youth in India. As a Social Entrepreneur she has raised funds, implemented large projects and brings in the immense know-how of entrepreneurship development and enterprise creation.
She is also the founder member of SAFAL (Skills Academy for Appropriate Livelihoods), an NGO, which works in the domain of Livelihoods and Sustainable development.

UNDP and SDEL (Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Department) in association with Ants launched a 5 days residential self-development program “Disha” to give an upward direction to lives and bring concrete realisation for dreams of the youth. 
The program was targeted 1260 entrepreneurs who can think big and will result in value creation, create wealth and generate employment. The program design covered Marketing, accounts, finance, HR, compliances, IPR, etc. 
The business plans created by the entrepreneurs  were examined by a team of experts (CA, CS, marketing experts, Bankers, entrepreneurs and Government officials). Workable business models were being created out of it. During this stage, they also have the opportunity to share their ideas with other Dishaites.
All the entrepreneurs were to pitch for funding towards the end of the program, similar to the Television reality show “ Shark Tank”. Proper business proposals and pitch documents for bank loans and investor funding were created.


Currently, SHGs are at a low level of equilibrium. There is no parabolic improvement in their livelihoods activity. This is partly due to lack of formal education, loads of family responsibilities, lack of communication skills, information asymmetry, insufficient financial assistance. This has created a vicious cycle, which resulted in a low level of social status and self-steam.Most of the SHGs members have no marketing skills or aware of newer techniques and has no desire to improvise. They are just surviving. 

The need of the hour is to move the SHG members out of their comfort zone and to compete in the broader market. The assumption is that with assistance, and out of “comfort zone” they can experience success, learn new things and be on a path to sustainability. Most SHGs have some basic skills which can be improved over time. The SHGs lack’s market orientation.

This platform will be provided to SHGs for a limited period of time. Once established, they can move on to their growth path and give space for other SHGs. Our intervention were:

  • Assistance in product standardisation, packaging and marketing. 

  • Develop craft value chains and markets. 

  • Developed branding and marketing collaterals for Selling their product through Malls in Bengaluru, National Exhibitions and Metro Cash & Carry outlets. 

  • Create skills and institutions that sustain these models beyond the project period.


Titan Leap is an initiative by Titan Company CSR for engagement with Community in imparting effective skills to the underprivileged youth leading to gainful employment and sustained careers. 
The training program started in June 2016, till date we have trained and placed more than 3000 youth in domains like healthcare, retail, IT/ITeS. Digital marketing and Accounting.


Ants in Association with UNDP worked on a model to understand the net benefit of the Skill development programme offered by various Governments. This was a Pan-India survey. The result was to:

  • Quantify the employability of a candidate undergoing skill training

  • Perceived benefit to the employer in terms of productivity by an employee who was trained under these skill de elopement program


The Government is implementing the scheme of Vocationalisation of School Education under the umbrella of ‘Samagra Shiksha - an integrated scheme for school education’, a Centrally Sponsored Scheme. The scheme seeks to integrate vocational education with general academic education to prepare educated, employable and competitive human resource for various sectors of the economy and the global market. Under Vocational Education component of ‘Samagra Shiksha’, NSQF compliant vocational courses are taught to the students from class 9th to 12th. 
Ants have worked/working with more than 400 schools across AP, MP, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and WB.
